Using the rototiller (baby plow) to prepare the soil.
Setting up the drip lines to water the plants when we’re not there.
Checking the spacing on the plants. Some of these babies are real hogs!
Getting the fence up to keep out the local deer, squirrels, bears and whatever else is poking around.
It was a crazy one-day endeavor, but we’ve planted a couple hundred veggie plants to feed guests for the fall and winter!
Highlights include:
- 17 types of heirloom tomatoes
- lola rossa heirloom lettuce
- borage, an Italian nettle-like plant that makes delightful raviolis
- Japanese eggplants
- and more!
